NOLS Wilderness First Aid

NOLS Wilderness First Aid (March 2-3) <-- Sign-up link

We are being offered a reduced rate for all Troop 171 members for this NOLS Wilderness First Aide course, please see below for how to sign up and costs.  You must attend both days to earn the certification.

Our Troop needs adults with this certification for our campouts and trips.  If we don’t have one, we are not able to go and having multiple is ideal.

Also, if you are attending Northern Tier we need a minimum of one adult per crew to be certified, but again more is always better, please get this certification if you can.

Lastly, you need to be 16 to take this course - so YES older Scouts you can take this and we would love for you to do so!

Space is limited here so please sign up NOW before it fills.  There will be non-Scouting attendees in addition to us.

Prepare for your Spring and Summer adventures with the only NOLS WFA in Boulder!

This course is for people of all experience levels, and is best suited for those who recreate outdoors where EMS response can be expected within 8 hours.

In one weekend, you will learn the Patient Assessment System, how to provide effective first aid treatments for injuries and illnesses common in the outdoors, how to make appropriate evacuation decisions, and prevention strategies (the easiest rescue is the one you don’t have to do!).

You’ll learn NOLS’ data-informed curriculum and build new skills through hands-on practice scenarios. You’ll learn in the classroom and outdoors regardless of weather, so come prepared.

This 16-hour course satisfies organizations worldwide, including the BSA, GSUSA, NICA, and the Colorado MTB League. The GS First Aid badge requires additional components, I’m happy to add those upon request.

$250 youth groups & volunteers
