SCOUTS BSA ADULT REGISTRATION and FORMS
Step 1 (required): YOUTH PROTECTION TRAINING (YPT) - The safety of our Scouts is paramount. Normally, this training is only needed for adults registering in the troop. However, the Troop 171 Adult Committee has mandated that all adults associated with Troop 171 successfully complete Youth Protection Training. The goal is that every adult has a complete understanding of the procedures and expectations to keep our Scouts safe. The program is available online at no charge.
Step 2 (optional): BSA FORMS - ADULT REGISTRATION - Parents may choose to register in Scouts BSA as a troop leader. Positions include: Adult Committee Member, Assistant Scoutmaster or Merit Badge Counselor. Completion of Youth Protection Training is required by all adults whether registering in the troop or not.
Step 3 (required if going on campouts): BSA MEDICAL INFORMATION and FORMS - For the safety of both our Scouts and adults, BSA requires a new form and medical physical annually.
Details are on our BSA Medical Forms and Information page.
Part A and B [self signed for adults] Do these parts, even if you can’t get part C done yet
Part C [doctor physical required] Do this when you can get in for a physical
Step 4 (optional): Troop Merit Badge Counselor Sign Up - You only need 4 things to be a merit badge counselor. Feel free to discuss being a merit badge counselor before signing up.
